After a recent bathroom remodel I went on the search for the "perfect" towel. After trying several brands over the past six months, I can with absolute confidence say there is no such thing as the perfect towel. But, of all the ones I tried, the Calcot bath sheets strike the best balance between pros and cons.

Of all the brands I tried, the Pinzon (Amazon house brand) 820 Gram towels and the Restoration Hardware Egyptian cotton towels were the closest runner-ups. Both are outstanding towels, but both suffered from the same problem - weight. These are some heavy towels in the bath sheet size! Weight is good when it comes to being a thirsty towel that offers a dense feel. Weight is not good when it comes to drying. On humid days the bath sheets would take more than a day to air dry after one use. Washing them was even more of a problem since they took forever to dry in the dryer. I line dry whenever I can, but unless it was hot and dry out (not all that common in VA), these took forever to dry outdoors as well. Plus, the weight when sopping wet is a real issue.

The Pinzon and the Restoration Hardware towels are excellent in hand towel size - you really appreciate the benefit of a dense pile when drying your face. But as a bath sheet, they were both impractical.

The Calcot caught my eye since they are made of US-grown Supima cotton. Basically this means the cotton fibers are long which makes them soft and absorbent. This translates into a lighter-weight towel without much loss of absorbency.

NOTE: Although the cotton is grown in the US, the towels are manufactured in Pakistan.

The Calcot bath sheets are also a bit smaller - they are 34 by 68. That's a few inches shorter than other bath sheets. I didn't miss the extra few inches, and the smaller size helps out with both the weight and ease of laundering.

Calcot has three product lines, with the Growers Collection (what I am reviewing) being their premium line. I did not try out their other lines, so can't say how they would perform.

These towels provide the best balance between softness, thickness, density, absorbency and weight. They dry quickly (both air dry and in the dryer) and are nice and large. Very minimal fuzz - in fact, hardly any came off in the first wash, and virtually nil in subsequent washes. This is in sharp contrast to the Pinzon, which shed like mad in the first wash, and kept shedding appreciably for several more washes.

Construction quality is decent. Not as nicely stitched on the edges as the Restoration Hardware towels but they are holding up well so far.

The price sealed the deal for me. I bought these directly from Calcot on their website (google Calcot Growers). Their website is pretty basic, and not what you'd call a great example of a storefront. But, the prices are much better (at least when I ordered) than Amazon or anyone else, and they offer the ability to buy either a la carte or as a pre-set bundle. I was able to get two bath sheets in their Growers Collection line for less than the cost of one bath sheet from Restoration Hardware. They shipped the same day as I ordered. They did not, however, respond to an email I sent with a question about the order (not a big problem since I found the answer myself later). So, while they score high for quick shipping and great prices, not so good when it comes to customer assistance.

I can't give any feedback on color fastness for any of the towels I tried since I only bought them in white.

Final tips: make sure you never, ever use fabric softener in the wash or dryer with any cotton towel. It really kills the absorbency. Every so often, add a half cup of vinegar to the wash. Helps keep the towels thirsty and soft. Lastly, wash the towel before using it the first time.

Hope this helps with others wresting with what towels to get.

I think these towels seem to hold water on their surface longer than other towels. When you first wrap the towel around yourself, the water seems like it hasn't been absorbed yet and it feels as if you are wiping yourself off with a cold, wet towel. If you hold on a minute or two, the water disappears inside the fabric and then the towel seems to drink up any water it touches instantly. Amazingly well! It is like they have to get "activated" or something. But if you are like me and you *hate* feeling cold after a shower, it's a maddening few minutes of chilliness. As far as looks, they are without a doubt quite stunning. They wash up beautifully, the color is bright (I got dark blue bath sheets) and rich, and they feel so soft I wish they were a blanket! They also seem to dry quickly, which is a plus. My daughter has snuggled up in them as if they are blankets. So if you can stand the weird cold feeling when you first put the towel around yourself, you'll be happy enough with them. I wouldn't buy them again but am wondering if they'll be better used in summer when room temperatures are warmer.

I received the product and was disappointed with the quality of the materials used to manufacture the item. The connection on the headphone side is made of a light plastic and comes in a different color than the original. It feels very light and give the impression that it can break very easy.. the cord is also very thin and raises immediate concerns about the possible lifetime of such a thin cord. Other than the quality concerns the product functions OK. My overall impression are that this product are manufactured with a goal to generate more frequent replacements. I would recommend buying original replacement products from Bose..

I received the replacement connection cable very quickly, shipping via first class mail. Product is very high quality. Fits perfectly into my Bose QC2. Dimensions look exact. Works perfectly. I could not distinguish a difference between the original cable that came with the QC2 and the replacement. For those interested in the airplane plugs, ask Ron. The bundle comes with a very high quality extension (more of a fabric thread than a rubber wire). The extension cable is a much better alternative than the Bose original wire.

Got this last week and used in this weekend. Went snorkeling with it and absolutely loved it. I hate slopping on sunscrean and with this shirt, I don't have to! I just need to cover up a couple spots and I don't get sunscrean all over the place. It actually helped keep me cool in the hot Florida sun too. I think I'll be picking up a few of these shirts. They're a little tight, but are close to true size.

These shirts are made to wear surfing. You get a rash on your chest from laying down on your surfboard. They are made very tight, and i mean very tight, so they wont get in the way. If you have ever got an ordinary shirt soaking wet you know how it drapes or hangs on you and it is very heavy. This shirt will not do that. As far as fit, unless your in your twenties or very fit, sadly I am neither, It is probably TWO sizes tighter than what you are used to. That said, a larger size will be the way to go but it will still be a stretch fabric shirt.

For the cost, this has been an excellent product for use in my classroom. I would suggest using rechargeable batteries. Great for amplifying directions over busy classroom noise.

I purchased this item because I am on the field with Soccer and Little Leagues all the time. I used the amplifier 1 time only. I could not turn the volume up all the way because of the squawk noise. At the end of the day the on/off switch, cheap plastic, had stripped and would not turn off. We got that fixed, put new batteries in and the connection started smoking and smelling like burnt plastic. Hooked it up to the A/C adapter and it worked just again, but out on the soccer/baseball fields this is going to be a really LONG extension cord. 8-( She says with sarcasm. Useless product, complete waste of time and money.

I bought it because a magnize rate it as Best Buy. But, I believe it is the Worst Buy. It is broken just after one month. I used it at most 1o times. No more than 30 minutes. The motor stops running.
It is warranty for ecchnage. But, unlike others (just cut the plug with with some # on it), it asks me to ship the whole blender for exchange. I bought it for $35, In order to ship the broken item, I ahve to pay extra $15 shipping fee. It makes it very expensive.
As for uasge, it only good for blending liquid not for ice. It is unable to crach big block of ice.

I've had this for a few years now, and for the most part, this blender is awesome. I've had expensive blenders that died crushing ice, or the trendy beehive one that has a tragic single point failure, a tiny hard plastic disc that cracked immediately and cannot be replaced. This one is the only blender I've tried that can crush ice in moments. This is due to extra blade points on a third level. Most blenders have blades that point up or down or in the middle, usually two out of three. This Kalorik has blades at all three levels and a really powerful motor.

My biggest compliant actually is the super strength of the motor and the simplicity of the settings. The lid snaps on with a super tight seal--a good thing--because the motor is so strong and the settings--on, off, pulse--way too simple. There's no slow or low-speed setting. No matter how little fluid is in there, it will be sprayed all over the inside of the glass jar with a flick of the switch. Once on, however, it settles into an even, if not top speed, flow. If you're making a smoothie, pop out only the smaller inner clear plastic top from the center of the lid and add ingredients, like ice cubes or frozen fruit, and you should have few splashes unless it's a freak wave.

Also learned the hard way that that top is SO snug, you need to have the center piece removed to puree hot soups. Otherwise, the pressure from the heat makes that lid fairly explode off when you turn on the blender. Not my favorite method for pureeing soups (immersion blender way better) but fair warning or end like me cleaning hot soup from all over the kitchen!

For a good powerful bar blender or (the real reason I bought it) making thick milkshakes and smoothies, you'd be hard pressed to find a better workhorse in the kitchen.

Perfect sound level to wash out any unwanted bathroom noises but not to loud so it's not annoying. It certianly moves a lot more air than the old fan. I liked this fan so much I bought another one and installed it in my other bathroom. Don't forget to insulate the cracks between the drywall and fan fixture to eliminate heat loss and help secure the fan (which helps reduce movement/noise). I used spray foam which worked great. I let it dry over night and then used a razor to scrape it flat and neat. Also, to make sure the bathroom fan acutally has air to move there must be a gap on the bottom of the bathroom door so the fan can pull air from outside the bathroom under the door and circulate the bathroom air outside. I cut the door so I have approx 1 inch gap from the bottom of the door to the tile floor (this also helps so the door doesn't drag or catch on any bathroom rugs). Once I cut the door and reinstalled it the fan actually got even quieter because it wasn't trying to work so hard to pull air. If you install a fan in a room with no means of "breathing" the fan can not pull air correctly and the motor will heat up and die very quickly.

I bought this model because the price was right for a spare bath, and it was the right size to replace the old one. I didn't care that it was 4.0 sones. How loud could it be for the length of time it runs.? But the first fan received vibrated on the spindle and my electrician suggested I get a replacement. I did. Amazon was amazingly fast with the replacement and sent it out before they received the old one. The second one was fine and suits my needs. I recommend plugging these fans into an outlet before installing in the ceiling. If I had, I could have had the replacement before I got the electrician in and pay him for two trips.

I bought these for use as as an outdoor vendor at festivals, and had a little rain and wind the first use. They held the canopy down well, attached to the bottom of the legs. I have them filled with 25 lbs. of sand each, and they do not leak, as a fellow vendor's does (different brand). The difference with these is they have velcro and fold down at the top to avoid leaks. The other vendor's bags had zippers. These were much lower in price too. Very pleased!
